There were 21 members listed in the Primitive Methodist Society, Ripon Circuit, in 1829 based at Wreaks. The chapel at Clapham Green was built in 1833 and in 1839, 38 members were listed. In 1846, Hugh Bourne, the founder of Primitive Methodism, preached there.
The Chapel was closed in 1930 and later converted into a house.
